How this service works
Answers the timing question an agent has before it schedules anything against a regulated exchange: is the main session running, and if not, when does it start. Covers XETR, XFRA, XNYS, XNAS, XLON, XPAR, XAMS, XSWX, XTKS and XHKG with pre trading, main session, post trading, half days and the holidays of 2026 and 2027. Time zones are resolved through IANA names and Intl at the queried instant, never through a fixed offset to UTC, because summer time starts and ends on different dates in the Euro

Use this endpoint when an AI agent needs to gate or schedule any action against a specific regulated equity exchange and must know the current session state before proceeding. It is preferable to generic market-hours databases because it covers DST transitions via IANA timezone resolution (not fixed UTC offsets), includes half-day schedules, and has holiday data for 2026–2027. Best suited for pre-trade checks on the 10 supported exchanges; do not use for crypto exchange hours or OTC market status.
Side effects
- Unsupported exchange MIC code returns an error — only XETR, XFRA, XNYS, XNAS, XLON, XPAR, XAMS, XSWX, XTKS, XHKG are covered
- Queries for dates beyond 2027 holiday calendar may return incomplete holiday data
- Malformed or missing request body returns a 4xx error
- Network timeout or service unavailability returns a 5xx error
