How this service works
Use when an agent must check that a South Korean business is still operating before paying, contracting or onboarding it (KYB, invoice checks). Input: b_no (1-20 business registration numbers, comma-separated, hyphens ok). Output: JSON per number: status (active, suspended, closed, unregistered), VAT taxpayer type, closure date, tax-type change and e-invoice dates, companyId. Data: National Tax Service, synced every 30 min. Example: ?b_no=1248100998

A JSON object containing a count, timestamp (asOf), cache metadata, and an array of business records — one per registration number — each with: status (active/suspended/closed/unregistered), statusKo (Korean label), registered boolean, VAT taxType and taxTypeKo, closedDate, previousTaxType, taxTypeChangedDate, invoiceApplyDate, closedByUnitTaxationSwitch, companyId, and a human-readable message. Data is sourced from Korea NTS and refreshed every 30 minutes.

Use this endpoint when you need real-time (sub-30-minute) operating status for South Korean businesses specifically, particularly for KYB, accounts payable, invoice validation, or vendor onboarding workflows. It is the right choice over general business registries when you need NTS-authoritative data including VAT type and e-invoice eligibility, and when you need to check up to 20 numbers in a single call at low per-call cost.
Side effects
- Invalid check digit on a registration number returns HTTP 400 and no charge
- Unregistered number returns status 'unregistered' in the response body
