Use this endpoint only after a standard single-pass search (e.g. linkup/search or exa/search) has returned insufficient or thin results for a complex, multi-hop, or hard research question. It is 5× more expensive and significantly slower than standard search, so it should be reserved for questions that genuinely require iterative query refinement, cross-source synthesis, or multi-hop reasoning. Do not use it for simple factual lookups or when speed is critical.
