Use this endpoint when your AI agent has already received an email in a Mermail mailbox and needs to relay or forward that message — including its thread context — to another address. Prefer this over a generic send endpoint when you need to preserve threading metadata (in_reply_to, references, thread_id) or forward an existing email object by its ID rather than composing a brand-new message from scratch.
Side effects
- Invalid mailboxId or emailId returns 404 not found
- Malformed or missing 'to' address causes a 422 validation error
- Unauthorized access to the mailbox returns 401 or 403
- Duplicate client_send_id may be rejected or deduplicated silently
- Attachment objects with missing fields may cause send failure
- Payment not fulfilled (x402) results in 402 Payment Required
