Use this endpoint when you need to validate or discover NYSE-listed securities by ticker or name from the Nasdaq Trader public directory. It is ideal for symbol resolution, ETF identification, and round lot size lookups on non-Nasdaq exchange listings. It does not provide real-time prices or company profiles, so prefer financial data APIs for those needs. Best when you specifically need the Nasdaq otherlisted directory data (NYSE, AMEX, etc.) rather than Nasdaq-listed stocks.
Side effects
- No matches found if ticker or name doesn't appear in the otherlisted directory (returns empty results array)
- Query string too long (over 40 characters) may be rejected
- Limit out of range (below 1 or above 50) may cause errors
- Exchange codes other than listed valid codes may return no results
- Underlying Nasdaq Trader file unavailable could cause fetch failures
- Returns only NYSE (exchange N) by default; AMEX or other exchange listings may not appear
