Choose this endpoint when you need a human-readable explanation of a specific transaction — especially for DeFi swaps, ERC-20 transfers, NFT mints, or contract calls — across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, or Polygon. It is ideal when you want decoded method names, token movement details from logs, and a plain-language summary in a single call rather than stitching together raw RPC calls. Prefer sibling endpoints for raw tx data without explanation, or for block/address-level queries.
Side effects
- Invalid or malformed transaction hash returns validation error
- Transaction not found on the specified chain returns not-found error
- Unsupported chain name returns enum validation error
- Unrecognized contract method may return raw 4-byte selector instead of decoded name
- Pending transactions may have incomplete receipt data
- Network congestion or RPC fallback delays may increase latency
- Microtransaction fee of $0.006 USDC must be paid per call via x402 protocol
