It is backed by AWS Rekognition's celebrity database, making it well-suited for media, entertainment, journalism, and content moderation workflows where knowing who appears in an image matters — not just that a person is present.
Side effects
- Image URL is inaccessible or returns a non-image response — endpoint cannot fetch the content
- No celebrities detected — returns an empty list rather than an error
- Low-confidence matches may include false positives for look-alike individuals
- Image too small or face too obscured for recognition — returns empty or low-confidence results
- Unsupported image format — may return an error if the format is not JPEG/PNG/GIF/WebP
- Payment failure via x402 — call is rejected if USDC balance is insufficient
