Output
Returns a structured evaluation result indicating MATCH, NO_MATCH, or REVIEW for the payee binding control. MATCH means evidence is valid and within its time bounds; NO_MATCH means evidence fails the check; REVIEW is returned when evidence is missing or insufficient for a determination. No raw bank-account data is returned or required.

Use this endpoint when you already hold caller-side or provider-side binding evidence (e.g. a previous verification, a bank confirmation, or a challenge response) for a known UK supplier and need a lightweight, time-bound control check before releasing a payment. It is not a first-pass identity lookup (use the UK Companies House resolution endpoint for that), nor does it independently prove bank-account ownership — it evaluates the evidence you supply via opaque fingerprints only.
Side effects
- Evidence valid_until is in the past — binding is expired, returns REVIEW or NO_MATCH
- Company number format invalid — 422 validation error
- Payee fingerprint below minimum length — validation error
- Binding evidence reference missing or empty — schema validation failure
- Idempotency key reused with different payload — conflict error
- Future-dated verified_at timestamp — rejected as invalid evidence
