Side effects
- Invalid ISO 4217 currency code in 'base' or 'symbols' returns an error
- Rates not yet published for today (ECB publishes around 16:00 CET on TARGET working days) may return previous business day's data
- Non-TARGET-day requests (weekends, ECB holidays) return the most recent available rates
- Payment verification failure (x402) blocks the request before any lookup
- Network or upstream Frankfurter API outage results in a 5xx error
