How this service works

Prefer it over live FX APIs when regulatory or audit-grade sourcing (ECB) is required and rates are for reference, not transaction execution. Ideal when you need per-currency statistics (min/max/changePct) alongside the raw series without post-processing.
Side effects
- Missing required 'start' or 'symbols' query parameters returns a 400 error
- Invalid date format (not YYYY-MM-DD) causes a parsing error
- Requesting more than 10 symbols exceeds the documented limit
- Date range with no ECB data (e.g. weekends only, or future dates) may return empty series
- Payment not settled (402) if USDC/x402 payment header is missing or insufficient
- Unknown currency codes return empty or partial rate data
