How this service works
Daily or monthly page views (user agent, all access) for up to 5 articles in one Wikipedia edition over a date range of at most one year, with totals, peak day and the change between the first and second half. mode=top lists the most viewed articles of one day. Data lags by about a day; bots and unknown agents are excluded.
Output
A JSON object containing the requested date range, Wikipedia project, granularity, and per-article arrays with total views, daily/monthly series (date + view count), peak day, percent change between first and second half of the range, and a missing flag. In 'top' mode, returns the most-viewed articles for the specified day. Also includes a source attribution and checkedAt timestamp.

Use this endpoint when you need structured, time-series pageview data for specific Wikipedia articles or want to discover the day's top-viewed Wikipedia pages. Prefer it over generic web-analytics tools when the subject is explicitly Wikipedia traffic. Useful for trend detection, content research, PR impact measurement, and audience interest signals derived from encyclopedia readership. It wraps the Wikimedia REST API with a pay-per-call model requiring no Wikimedia credentials.
Side effects
- Invalid or misspelled article title returns missing:true for that article
- Date range too far in the past or future may yield empty data from Wikimedia
- More than 5 articles in the comma-separated list may be rejected or truncated
- Invalid project code (e.g. typo in Wikipedia edition) returns an error
- mode=top combined with multiple articles is not supported and may error
- Network timeout if Wikimedia upstream is slow
