A JSON array of recent news articles, each containing a title, link, snippet/summary, and published date, sourced from a multi-engine news metasearch. Results are filtered by recency (day, week, month, or year) and capped at the requested limit (1–20, default 5).

Choose this endpoint when you need real-time or recent news articles specifically — breaking news, current events monitoring, or time-sensitive fact-finding. It is better than general web search endpoints when you want only news sources (not all web pages), and better than static knowledge bases when recency matters. Use over the sibling web search endpoint when you specifically want news articles rather than general organic web results.
Side effects
- Query parameter 'q' missing — returns 400 error
- Payment not provided or insufficient — returns 402 Payment Required
- No results found for query/time combination — returns empty array
- Time filter value not in allowed enum (day/week/month/year) — returns validation error
- Limit exceeds maximum of 20 — returns validation error
