It is pay-per-call with no API key required (x402 payment or prepaid balance), making it ideal for agents that validate sporadically or in bursts. Prefer it over full SMTP-probe services when you want speed and privacy, and over simple regex checks when you need DNS and disposable-domain intelligence.
Side effects
- Missing or malformed email query parameter returns an error
- Email longer than 254 characters rejected
- Network/DNS lookup failure may degrade MX check results
- Disposable domain list may lag newly created throwaway domains
- No SMTP probe performed, so deliverable_likely does not confirm mailbox existence
- Payment failure (x402) blocks the request if neither x402 nor prepaid key is provided
