A JSON object containing: the indicative price and the source it came from (e.g. Hyperliquid HIP-3 perp mark), the current session label (open/closed/pre/post), the implied gap percentage vs. last regular session close, a list of contributing sources each with their own price, 24h volume, open interest, and funding rate, the last regular session sampled price, the data age in seconds, and an as_of timestamp. A notice field clarifies that prices are indicative, not official exchange quotes.

Use this endpoint when you need a 24/7 indicative price for a US stock or index and cannot wait for US exchange hours — particularly useful on weekends, holidays, or after hours. Prefer this over traditional stock quote APIs when you need a price right now and the market is closed, or when you want to estimate the implied open-gap from overnight crypto venue activity. Not suitable when you need an official closing auction price or regulatory-grade quote.
Side effects
- Unknown or unsupported ticker symbol — endpoint may return an error or empty data if the symbol is not listed on the covered venues
- Stale data — the age_s field may be high if no recent trades have occurred on the perp venue
- Session misidentification — the session label may not correctly reflect US exchange holidays
- Payment failure — if the x402 USDC micropayment is not completed, the response will not be returned
- No liquidity — some tickers may have very low open interest or volume, making the indicative price unreliable
