Use this endpoint specifically when an AI agent already holds a wallet-owned phone number provisioned through AgentLine and needs to extend its active lease before it expires. This is not for provisioning a new number or porting an existing one — it is purely a renewal/extension operation. Prefer this over re-provisioning if the agent needs to retain the same phone number for continuity of inbound routing, caller ID, or SMS threads.
Side effects
- Phone number not found or not owned by the calling wallet — returns an error indicating invalid ownership
- Malformed E.164 phone number format — returns a validation error
- Payment failure (insufficient USDC balance for $2 fee) — returns a 402 Payment Required error
- Number already expired or recycled — may return an error indicating it can no longer be renewed
- Rate limiting or service unavailability — returns a 429 or 5xx error
