Use this endpoint when you need to replicate the Google Maps 'Search this area' behavior — i.e., you have a specific map viewport defined by a center point and zoom level and want to find businesses within that visible area. Prefer this over radius-based search when the search scope is naturally framed as a map view at a particular zoom rather than a fixed distance. Choose it over bounding-box search when you only have a center coordinate and zoom level rather than explicit corner coordinates.
Side effects
- Missing required parameters (query, lat, lng, or zoom) returns a 400 validation error
- Invalid or out-of-range zoom level may return empty results or an error
- No businesses matching the query in the specified area returns an empty data array
- Invalid ISO region or language code may produce unexpected results or an error
- Rate limit exceeded returns a 429 or payment-required error
- Very high limit values (close to 500) may increase response latency significantly
