Use this endpoint when you need to find businesses near a specific geographic point (lat/lng) by keyword or category, especially when you want rich Google Maps data including ratings, addresses, hours, and optionally contact details. Prefer this over area/radius search when you want a simple proximity search around a pin-drop coordinate rather than a bounded geographic area.
Side effects
- Missing required parameters (query, lat, or lng) returns a 400 validation error
- Invalid or out-of-range coordinates may return empty results or an error
- Exceeding the limit range (1-500) may cause a validation error
- Rate limiting or quota exhaustion returns a 402 or 429 error
- Unsupported region or language codes may result in fallback behavior or errors
- extract_emails_and_contacts=true may significantly increase latency due to website scraping
