How this service works
Carbon intensity of Great Britain's electricity grid from the official NESO Carbon Intensity API (CC BY 4.0), in half-hour periods with a low/moderate/high index. No params -> current national half-hour; ?horizon=fw24h|fw48h adds the forecast; ?region=1..17 (13=London) switches to a DNO region and includes the generation mix per fuel. 30-min upstream cadence, 30-min cache.
Output
Returns the current national or regional carbon intensity value in gCO2/kWh with a low/moderate/high index for each half-hour period. If a forecast horizon is specified (fw24h or fw48h), returns upcoming half-hour forecast periods. If a region is specified, also returns the generation mix broken down by fuel type for that DNO region.
