How this service works
Headline national CPI, year-on-year growth rate (%), monthly, from the official OECD SDMX API (dataset DSD_PRICES@DF_PRICES_ALL). Complements Eurostat HICP with USA, GBR, JPN, CAN and other OECD economies under one methodology. Query: ?country=USA (REF_AREA code) &last_n=12 (1-24 months, default 1). Returns date-sorted observations plus the latest print; 24h cache. Recency varies by country; series older than 18 months are refused (502, not charged). Data: OECD, CC BY 4.0.
Output
Returns an array of date-sorted monthly CPI observations for the requested country, each with the observation date and year-on-year growth rate (%), plus the latest/most recent CPI print. Data is cached for 24 hours and sourced from the OECD SDMX API under CC BY 4.0.

Side effects

- Invalid or unsupported OECD REF_AREA country code returns an error
- last_n outside the 1-24 range is rejected
- OECD upstream API unavailable causes failure
- Countries not covered by OECD methodology will not be found
