How this service works
Which employers appear in federal enforcement and compliance records? Search 3.7M resolved employer entities by name (suffix/punctuation-insensitive, trigram-indexed), state, linked source (whd, osha, echo, oflc, fmcsa, leie, sam_exclusions), NAICS prefix, or source-count range. Returns entity IDs for the business360 dossier plus identity, address, and source/record counts. total_matched caps at 1000 — narrow when capped. Not a consumer report; no FCRA use.

Returns a paginated list of resolved employer entities with entity IDs, normalized company names, addresses (state), source count (number of distinct federal databases the entity appears in), record count, and the specific federal sources linked (e.g. whd, osha, echo, oflc, fmcsa, leie, sam_exclusions). total_matched is capped at 1000; narrower queries are needed when the cap is hit.

Use this endpoint when you need to find federal compliance and enforcement records for specific employers or screen businesses against government enforcement databases (WHD, OSHA, EPA ECHO, OFLC, FMCSA, LEIE, SAM exclusions). Prefer this over general business search tools when the specific question is about regulatory risk, labor violations, debarment, or multi-source federal enforcement exposure. Not suitable for FCRA-covered consumer reporting use cases.
Side effects
- Query too broad — total_matched hits 1000 cap, requiring additional filters (name, state, NAICS, or source)
- Name normalization may not match highly abbreviated or misspelled company names
- No results returned for companies not present in any of the 7 federal source datasets
- Invalid source code in CSV list returns an error or empty results
- NAICS prefix too broad returns too many results; needs more digits for precision
