SEC Full-Text Search is a paid API for AI agents from x402-agent-api.onrender.com, paid per call via x402, $0.01/call, status unknown (last checked 2026-10-10).
Search the full text of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) by keyword or exact phrase, returning ranked matching documents with filing metadata and next-step guidance.
Full-text search of SEC EDGAR filings since 2001: which companies mention a phrase such as 'material weakness', 'going concern', 'tariff', a product or a person. Filter by form (10-K, 8-K, S-1, ...), company and date. Each hit: company, ticker, form, date, document link and the paid call that reads it; plus top companies and forms. No match is free. $0.01 USDC per call.
Returns a ranked list of up to 50 matching SEC documents, each with company name, ticker, CIK, form type, filing date, period ending, accession number, direct document URL, filing index URL, and a suggested next-call (e.g. read a specific section). Also includes total hit count, a breakdown of hits by form type, top companies by hit frequency, a link to the EDGAR search UI, and pagination offset for retrieving more results.
POSThttps://x402-agent-api.onrender.com/api/v1/sec-full-text-search?utm_source=zero.xyzUse this endpoint when you need to discover which SEC filings contain a specific keyword, phrase, or topic across the entire EDGAR universe or for a specific company — especially for compliance screening, investment research, or competitive analysis. Prefer it over sec_list_filings when you have a search term rather than just wanting to enumerate filings, and over sec_filing_section when you don't yet know which specific filing or accession number to read.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| cik | — | SEC Central Index Key, e.g. 320193. Use this, `ticker` or `company`. |
| forms | array | Only these form types, e.g. ["10-K", "10-Q"] or ["8-K"], ["S-1"], ["DEF 14A"]. Default: all forms. |
| limit | integer | How many documents to return, most relevant first (1-50, default 20). |
| query | string | What to search for in the filings' text. Put an exact phrase in double quotes, e.g. "\"material weakness\"" or "\"going concern\" Nasdaq"; words outside quotes must all appear. |
| since | string | Only documents filed on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Full-text search covers 2001 on. |
| until | string | Only documents filed on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). |
| offset | integer | Skip this many results; pass the previous response's next_offset to page through more. |
| ticker | string | US stock ticker, e.g. AAPL, MSFT, BRK-B. Use this, `cik` or `company`. |
| company | string | Company name, e.g. "Apple" or "Coca-Cola". Use this, `ticker` or `cik`; a name matching several companies returns their tickers, free. |
