Output
Returns the HMAC signing secret (either auto-generated by ZenSched or the one you supplied) used to verify the authenticity of incoming webhook payloads. Also confirms the webhook registration and associated event subscriptions. If no org exists for the paying wallet, one is auto-provisioned.

It is the correct choice for automating downstream workflows triggered by worker lifecycle events (invited, activated), shift activity (check-in, checkout, missed), form submissions, timesheet readiness, or billing alerts. Prefer this over polling the API when low latency reaction to events matters or when you want to drive external systems (HR tools, dashboards, payroll pipelines) directly from ZenSched state changes.
Side effects
- Invalid or non-HTTPS webhook URL returns a validation error
- Malformed events_json (not a valid JSON array or contains unknown event names) returns a parse/validation error
- Duplicate registration for the same URL may conflict unless idempotency_key is provided
- Insufficient USDC balance causes the $0.01 pay-per-call to fail before registration occurs
- Webhook endpoint that fails to respond during ZenSched's test ping may be rejected
