Choose this endpoint when you are already integrated with Firecrawl's v1 /search API and want a drop-in cost reduction (from $0.025 to $0.015 per call) without code changes. It is especially useful when running AI agents that need to detect prompt injection on retrieved pages — a feature not present in the original Firecrawl. Prefer it over generic SERP APIs when you need full markdown page content alongside search results in a single call.
Side effects
- Query returns no results — success: true but data array is empty
- Payment not attached or insufficient — 402 response blocking the request
- Limit out of range (e.g. >10) — may return error or be clamped
- Scraping a page fails — individual result may lack markdown field
- Invalid tbs value — may return error or be silently ignored
- Network timeout on underlying page fetch — partial results returned
