Live Chainlink price feed on Base, read from the oracle contract at request time: price, round id, last update and feed address. Pairs: ETH-USD, BTC-USD, SOL-USD, LINK-USD, CBETH-USD, AERO-USD, USDC-USD, EUR-USD. Pass ?pair=ETH-USD (default ETH-USD). No third-party API, no cache.
Output
Returns the live price (in USD or base quote currency), Chainlink round ID, last update timestamp, and the oracle contract feed address for the requested pair. Data is read directly from the on-chain Chainlink contract with no caching or third-party intermediary.

Ideal for DeFi agents, smart contract interactions, or any use case requiring verifiable, tamper-resistant price data with provenance (round ID, feed address, update time). Prefer over centralized exchange price APIs when on-chain verifiability matters.
Side effects
- Unsupported pair — returns error if pair not in supported list (ETH-USD, BTC-USD, SOL-USD, LINK-USD, CBETH-USD, AERO-USD, USDC-USD, EUR-USD)
- RPC node unavailability — on-chain read may fail if the Base RPC endpoint is temporarily unreachable
- Payment failure — x402 payment of $0.02 USDC must succeed before data is returned
- Malformed pair parameter — passing incorrectly formatted pair string returns an error
