Use this endpoint after registering or adding a new domain to AgentMail and completing the required DNS configuration. It is the necessary step to activate the domain before agents can send or receive email from it. Prefer this over checking domain status (a read operation) when you actually want to trigger or complete the verification process.
Side effects
- Domain ID not found — returns 404 if the domain_id does not exist in the workspace
- Domain already verified — may return a conflict or idempotent success response
- DNS records not yet propagated — verification fails if required DNS entries aren't in place
- Invalid domain_id format — returns 400 for malformed input
- Authentication failure — returns 401 if credentials are missing or invalid
