Prefer this over listing all threads when you know exactly which thread you need. Ideal for agentic workflows that track thread IDs across steps and need to check the latest state of a specific conversation.
Side effects
- Thread not found (404) if thread_id does not exist or belongs to a different workspace
- Unauthorized (401/403) if the agent's credentials are invalid or expired
- Invalid thread_id format returns a 400 bad request
- Empty response if the thread has been deleted
- Rate limiting errors if too many requests are made in quick succession
